The AAMC counted 52,460 active physicians in emergency medicine in 2024, whether or not they bill Medicare. This file has 46,004 emergency physicians, every one enrolled in Medicare in the CMS file dated Aug 18, 2026, counted once each by NPI. Every specialty side by side.

Questions buyers ask
The CMS Doctors and Clinicians national downloadable file, the Medicare enrollment roster, version Aug 18, 2026. Every emergency physician in it treats Medicare patients, which is a filter on its own: no lapsed enrollments, no phantom practices. Emails are added and verified by us, not bought from a broker.
Not on the verified rows. The email column is the emergency physician's own work address, matched to the practice domain and checked against the mailbox. The practice phone sits in its own column for the times you do want the front desk.
No verified count yet. This file's email column is built after you order and reaches you within a day at no extra cost, and only addresses that pass an SMTP check go in. Expect a minority of rows to get one: in our first test run, 55 of 400 cardiologists got a verified email (Sep 10, 2026). Every row keeps the practice city, state and ZIP. Most rows also carry a street address and a practice phone.
They have the address they bill from, which is usually the hospital or the staffing group, not a private office. That is worth knowing before you buy. The phone number is the billing practice line.
Role addresses, catch-all-only domains and dead mailboxes are removed before you get the file, which is what keeps a cold send from wrecking a domain. If hard bounces still pass five percent on the verified column, we refund the $295 against your bounce report.
They are short. CAN-SPAM: no misleading headers or subject lines, a real physical address in every message, a working opt-out honored within ten business days. The law covers business-to-business email too, and it does not require opt-in. HIPAA does not apply, because provider records are not patient records. Sends into Canada or the EU fall under CASL and GDPR, and compliance there is on you.
